Nut Sizes

The Janon Nut Cracker accomodates all Macadamia nut sizes from 14 mm up to 40 mm

Note

Cracking of Macadamias, requires the provision of Nut in Shell (NIS) sizing devices to be installed. It is essential to obtain accurate nut sizing prior to cracking as the increase in yield of whole kernel, is directly dependant on the accuracy of sizing. The sizers can be installed in-line, with NIS being directed to the correctly set nut cracker.

Consolidated Test Program Results

38 Different batches of macadamia nuts were cracked to give the following results. These consisted of a variety of cultivars, some Hybrids and others Integs, while some were single cultivars and others mixed cultivars. The separation and analysis of the crackout was performed by an independent laboratory, to standardise the results.

The Graph shows the average crackout achieved over all samples, while the Table lists the actual samples tested and their results.
